In 1971, the Plant's personnel was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor - the highest government award of those years

In 2007, Ural Steel was the first in the Russian Iron and Steel Industry to voluntarily and successfully apply the Kyoto Protocol mechanism aimed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere

Over the years, unique developments of high-tech steel products of the Plant were awarded with medals and diplomas from Metal-Expo:
- silver medal for joint development of the production of pipes from hydrogen resistant strips together with Zagorsk Pipe Plant and Management Company;
- high-tech development of production of bimetal and clad pipes;
- rolled plates made of 10ХСНДА and 15ХСНДА steel grades;
- rolled plates made of 14ХГНДЦ weather and corrosion resistant steel grade for steel structures of railway and road bridges;
- strips made of 09ГСФ steel grade for the production of gas and oil line pipes with a diameter of 530-1220 mm with higher cold resistance and corrosion resistance;
- strips made of steel of X70 (K60) strength class for the construction of gas collecting systems of a Liquefied Natural Gas Plant (LNG);
- rolled products from lean alloyed cryogenic steel for the production of LNG storage and transportation vessels for arctic applications;
- rolled plates from 0Н6ДМБ cryogenic steel grade for the production of LNG storage and transportation vessels at temperatures down to -196 degrees.

Ural Steel is the record holder of awards in the regional competition “Leader of the Orenburg Region Economy”. Every year for more than 10 years it has won in various nominations of this competition
